Grayling
Well we've hit the southern-most point of the trail at Grayling. The dogs have a hard time with the harsh wind along the river. I’m resting them up before we make a dash for Eagle Island.
There's nothing like a fast sled to help you feel like you're flying out in the open. Did you know I designed my sled myself? Sure, it wasn't so hard. But I've been using this sled for a few years now and I'm thinking I'd like to try a new design for next year.
Hey - would you like a chance to design a new sled for me? I'd bet you can come up with some fresh ideas I haven't even thought of! http://www.ooowoo.com/JUNIOR/doityourself/k12sled.html has some ideas on how a sled is usually built. Tell you what, ask your teacher for a dozen popsicle sticks or toothpicks and see what kind of model sled you can design for me. I can't wait to see what you come up with – mail them to Mr. McKenzie and he’ll post them on the project site for everyone to see!
